Care Guide
We're absolutely thrilled that you chose a LumenFlows candle to elevate your space. To make sure you get the very best out of your fragrant gem, here's a quick and easy guide to candle care.
Lighting Up Your World
- Set your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, well out of the way of drafts, children, and pets.
- Before lighting, make sure to trim the wooden wick down to 3-5mm to guarantee the perfect burn and an inviting flame.
First Burn is the Deepest
The first time you light your candle sets the tone for its entire life.
- Allow the candle to burn until a full wax pool has formed, reaching all the way to the jar's edge. This ensures that you won't encounter tunneling down the line.
- Aim for a first burn of around one hour but avoid burning for more than 3-4 hours at a stretch.
The Wick's Symphony
Our wooden wicks are a natural material, which means the flame's dance may differ over time. An untrimmed wick could result in a smaller flame that doesn't perform as intended. Also, don't be surprised if you hear a gentle crackling sound—that's just the wooden wick performing its natural symphony.
A Few Wax & Wick Tips
- Always allow the wax to fully cool before moving your candle or attempting any wick adjustments.
- If the flame gets a little unruly or too low, it's probably time for a quick wick trim. A well-maintained wick offers a cleaner, more efficient burn.
Knowing When to Say Goodbye
- When you're down to the last 5mm of wax, it's time to say goodbye to your beloved candle.
- Don't forget to recycle the jar per your local guidelines and come back to LumenFlows for a fresh aromatic journey.
